Watson is THREE!

We had a blast celebrating our big boy's birthday this year!  I cannot believe we have a three year old - where did the time go?!!

Watson's absolute favorite food is cheese dip...I mean this kid can put away some queso!  When I asked him what he wanted at his birthday, he said cheese and cake...so clearly we had a FIESTA for his birthday!  :)

We are so thankful to all of our friends and family who came to celebrate our sweet boy!

I am so bummed because a lot of my pictures would not transfer from my camera to my computer..not sure what is up with that.  Hopefully I can get it to work later so I can get the rest of my pictures uploaded to this post!

What's a fiesta without a pinata?!  We let all of the kids have a turn hitting it...and of course they had to wear a sombrero while doing so!  Blakely was the lucky one to break the pinata...then there was chaos as the kids all ran to pick up their treats!

I love this man!

Emma loving time with Nannie and Hink

So thankful for Onita and all of her help during Watson's party!  She jumped right in and was a huge help!!

Mr. Bull, the pinata

Papaw and typical Mel :)

Hola Hampton!

Sweet Abby

Since everyone took over getting ready for the party I just took a minute to relax :)

Mary and Mel - so thankful that our families are so close!

Happy Birthday!!

Birthday boy and his daddy!
Thankful for lifelong friendships and watching our kids grow up together!

Love this family.

Two out of four isn't so bad..right?!

Emma and her grandmothers - she is one lucky girl!

Sweet friends...Watson loves playing with Haddon.  We are so thankful to have them in Birmingham now!

Love having Papaw at these parties.  I can honesty say this man picks out the best gifts for the kids - it never fails that his gifts are ALWAYS the favorite!

Love watching Alan and Watson's relationship.  Watson sure loves his Uncle Alan!

Some things about Watson at this age:
- Chatterbox and wild man at home
- Reserved in public
- Loves being outside - especially helping in the yard
- Thrives when given responsibilities or tasks
- Favorite toys: balls, blocks, cars, guns...this is what happens when your dad is a police officer!
- Protective over his baby sister
- Cuddles with Mommy, Wrestles with Daddy
- We are officially in the question phase...What's that say?  What time is it?  Why'd you say that for? Why is that tree green for?  What did that car say?  What did the grass say?  (huh?!) Questions. All. Day. Long :)
- Loves going to church
- Always talks about our "new house"
- Very sensitive and very cautious
- Our little "old soul"
- Loves coffee...I mean LOVES it!
- Good eater for the most part
- Knows his colors, working on counting...it's a struggle though!  Can sing the ABC's if I sing with him.  Can recognize a few letters, but working on all of them.
- Loves coloring, painting, drawing, "writing his name"
- Starts every morning crawling into our bed and cuddling with us...I will always treasure that time of day!

July 4th...

Our annual July 4th family reunion was so much fun this year.  I absolutely love this week each year of getting to spend time at the beach with all of my family and see family that we only get to see once a year.  I'm so thankful that my grandmother and her family started this tradition and look forward to my kids continuing it!

Mom, Mel and I went down early with the kids to stay with Gwen and Allison for a couple of days before the guys came to join us.  It was so much fun getting to spend some time with Gwen and Allison - we don't get to see them near enough so we were thrilled to have that time with them!

Once the guys came down we moved to a condo on the bay side.  We were a little unsure about staying anywhere but on the beach side, but we all LOVED it!  We were right on the bay and were able to watch all the boats go by, play in the bay, swim in the pool, etc.  The best part were the fireworks on the 4th.  I really don't think there could have been a better location to watch the fireworks!

Both of my sweet babies got double ear infections while we were there, which made them pretty pathetic :(  I don't know what it is about going out of town, but I can honestly say we have yet to have a trip out of town without a sick child!!!  Thankfully the urgent care hooked us up with some meds and got them feeling much better :)

Our crazy attempt at a family picture!

Overall it was a great trip - again, so thankful for my sweet family and the time that we are able to spend with them each year!

July...

July in pictures...

I cannot believe how fast this summer is flying by!  July may have been the fastest month ever...I really feel like I blinked and it was over!

We are continuing to get settled into our new home, and that was put in overdrive this month as we had Watson's birthday party at our house!  Though it was stressful to have a party here about a month after moving in, I was so glad we had planned it that way because it forced me to get after things!

I will do a couple other posts of things that happened this month, but here are some things I wanted to make note of in this post...

Watson has become such a great helper around the house.  He loves to help in the yard, the kitchen, vacuuming, sweeping...any chore around the house looks fun to him, and hey...it might not really be 'helping' but I don't want to do anything to discourage him from being our little helper!  Here he is helping me cook and helping in the yard...

This little nugget turned three!  I can't believe it!!  A whole post will come from his birthday party, but I of course had to note it here :)  Words don't express the love we have for this boy!

We got Watson a balance bike for his birthday.  He had been begging us for a bike and we kept telling him he would have to wait until his birthday, so needless to say he was pretty excited :)

My Papaw turned 85 years old so we got the whole family together to celebrate this special man's life!  We went to Highlands for dinner...it was amazing!

The way to my boys' hearts is Cracker Barrel...

Sweet Emma drinking some water.  This little lady is Miss Independent these days.  No longer does she want to be held or sit in someone's lap if there is a big girl chair she can sit in all by herself!

Being three is hard work...

Hink and Nannie came to visit this month for Watson's birthday.  Watson loves helping Hink work on his computer...

And sorry Mom, but I had to document this picture :)  My parents were invited to a banquet at Auburn this month and Dad wasn't going to miss the opportunity of getting Mom's picture taken with Aubie...
