Five months...

Mason Hill, you are the happiest, most joyful baby in the world.  You bring so much joy to our family - words do not come close to describing how much you are loved!!



Size clothes: 6 - 9 month clothes

Size diaper: Size 2

Eats: Nurses every 3-4 hours during the day and usually one time during the night.  We tried rice cereal one week before he turned 5 months.  He really liked it (after a few bites!) but the next two days were miserable - he went to the bathroom ALL day...literally TEN times in one day!  He was also super fussy...maybe it was coincidence but it was bad enough that I decided to hold off.  The more research I did said to skip cereal all together and wait for baby food, so who knows what I'll do.. But for now, we are holding off! 
Sleeps: Typically goes down between 7:30-8 and wakes up for the day between 6-7.  He's a good little sleeper and is only waking up once at night to eat...I'll take it! 

We aren't quite ready for the exersaucer but we had to give it a shot!

Everyone had to get in on feeding Mason!  Watson and Emma were SO excited that they were getting to feed him :)

It's hard being five months old...tummy time often turns into sleepy time while the big kids are getting ready for school in the mornings!

Mason, this month you were dedicated at church.  We are so thankful for a church body that loves our family and agrees to come alongside us as we raise you and your brother and sister...pointing each of you to Christ and teaching you about Him every day.  Oh how I pray that you will recognize your need for Jesus at an early age and surrender your life to Him.  Run after Him always, sweet boy - He will never fail you.

The verse that we prayed over you that day was Galatians 2:20  "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me"

Sweetest little rolls in all the world!

Four months...

Our chunky boy is 4 months old and just as sweet as ever!  Our entire family is a little obsessed with this little boy - let's just say he is not lacking in cuddles each day!

Weight: 16lbs 14oz (there's a reason I said our CHUNKY boy!)
Height: 26"
Size diaper: 2
Size clothes: 3-6 month and 6 month clothes
Eating: Nurses every 3-4 hours during the day; occasionally nurses once during the night as well
Sleeping: Typically sleeps 10-11 hours at night and as said above, occasionally wakes up once throughout the night.  Naps are anywhere from 1-2 hours 2-3 times a day (usually two good naps and one cat nap in the swing...and by good naps I mean longer naps...poor baby naps in the car, nap nanny, crib, swing...wherever he happens to be!)  He is no longer in a swaddle.  He transitioned really well into a sleep sack since he is a tummy sleeper.  He went from swaddled in the rock n play to sleeping on his tummy, in his crib, in a sleep sack. 

He is trying so hard to roll over but has not mastered it quite yet.  He somehow gets almost his whole body over but his head - not sure how he does it!

Tummy time is going well - he loves it when we are down there with him playing!  The only problem with tummy time is the insane amounts of spit up that occur... Thankfully he does not seem bothered by it, but my goodness I've never seen a child spit up so much!!

Emma loves to kiss all over her baby - she is very sweet and gentle with him.

This smile melts my heart every single time.  There is nothing better than a big gummy baby smile!! Mason is such a happy baby - he truly only cries when he is hungry or sleepy, and sometimes when he has a dirty diaper.  We are beyond thankful for this!

He rarely falls asleep like this on me any more so when it does happen I soak it up.  All three of my babies have loved sleeping on me like this and I think it is the BEST!

Oh.My.Gracious. I cannot handle the cuteness!!

We thought we were going to need a passport for the kids so we got their pictures taken.  I just had to post this picture...take a look at those chins!! :)

These two share such a special bond.  I hope that they are not only brothers, but best friends for all their life.

Mason loves bath time - he can be super fussy but as soon as he gets in the bath he calms down. 

He is not laughing consistently, but we have had a few good belly laughs.  They are just as sweet as you would imagine them to be :)

You can almost always find his hands in his mouth or a blanket or toy - with the amount of drool and chewing going on, I'm convinced there are some teeth on the way!

Mason Graham Hill, you are a JOY!  We love you more than you will ever know!

Watson is FIVE!!

How in the world is my first born baby already FIVE years old?!  I feel like the past five years have flown by, yet at the same time I can hardly remember life before he was born.

Watson, you are so very kind, caring, compassionate, and affectionate.  You love big and are always looking out for others.  You are particular, detailed, literal - things are truly black and white for you.  No one loves a job and responsibility more than you.  You would pass up playing any day to help out with a project around the house - I adore this quality in you!  You love your brother and sister dearly - you and Emma have a way of pressing each other's buttons, but Mason can do no wrong in your eyes.  I have a feeling that will change before too long :)

You technically could be starting Kindergarten next month, which blows my mind.  We are holding you back a year, though, because of your late birthday.  I definitely think this was the best choice we could have made for you.

You are becoming more and more of a daddy's boy every day.  You love the things he loves, always want to be with him and honestly, are just like him in so many ways!

You love to tell jokes, love to be outside, and love to tell long stories...with lots of details :)  You have been referred to, by more than one person, as our little philosopher!

You love Jesus and talk about him being your best friend all the time.  Your knowledge of the Bible blows me away.  I pray every day that this knowledge of the stories of the Bible will turn into a deep, passionate relationship with Christ very soon and that you will always love Him above all else.

For your party this year we did pizza and cupcakes at Wald Park - it was a HOT party, but a sweet time!
